Felix is a rising star in the wildlife photography world. He has been taking images for nearly ten years. Felix spends a lot of time in the Masaai Mara, Kenya and British Columbia, Canada. He is a photographic guide in both locations with many years experience already.
His aim with his work is to show off the beauty of the natural world, while incorporating wildlife into the scene. Taking images with a wider approach is key for his art. Felix says “I love showing where the animals live, without it, the image could have been taken anywhere. The beauty of wildlife photography is where it takes me, not the subject itself. Wild animals live in gorgeous locations, and it would be a shame to not include it within in the photo.”
Colour has always been key for his art. To be seen as a fine art wildlife photographer, generally the images have to be black and white. This is shame as the natural world provides a vast variety of rich tones and colours to work with. Natural light has a huge part to play in his work, elevating and changing the emotion of an image. Felix says “Colour images stand out more to me. If I were to print one of my images I would always choose colour over black and white.”
